Well, my mind is clear out of songs at the moment...

Intersting day at work. We heard a cry, then another, then I heard something I thought sounded like a skateboard. As I looked out the window, first I saw an empty pair of work gloves, then a flagger's stop sign, then a femal flagger with the head of an elderly women in her lap. The body of the older women was sprawled up the four steps to the clinic front door. The flagger was looking around frantically yelling for someone to call for help. I grabbed my phone and called 911 and got an ambulance and a firetruck to the clinic. Poor woman (toting a cane) had fallen down the brick steps. She was conscious by the time they put her on the board and took her off, but I overheard her say that she didn't remember falling. One of the IM nurses said she had just been in the lab. I just kept thinking of angels when I saw her, praying that she would be calm and not have broken anything.

Word of the day: MUCHO

Lexie has her first dental appointment and cleaning in a week and a half, and then her annual well child check the week after that. Thumper has some strange red bump on him that's I just found last night, and if Lexie wasn't asleep on the trip home (still sleeping) I would have taken him to the vet to check it out.

We had a blast at the beach last weekend. I love to be able to take Thumper places with Lex and me. I just wish the cats could come to.

I started a four week class (required by the state) called Kid's Turn. It's for parent who are getting divorced. It's kind of interesting, but there is a turd head in there that if he doesn't keep his trap shut, I'll have to take an Advil for my clenched teeth headache. There is also a woman in the class who my hear totally goes out to. She is the step-mother of a girl that her and her husband had sole custody of. Now her husband died, and she is having to fight the biological parents for custody. What a trauma for the whole family.

Today I'm grateful for Lexie, family, life, weekends, my job, and life.

Pictures

I've got a silly hat, Salt's got a silly hat, stovetop, pillbox, fidora, tiara, turban, fez, sombrero...

One of the small joys in life...A soft freshly laundered bed after three days of a feverish cold. Long time no blog. Lex and I just got over a pretty nasty cold that she handled much better than I. What a trooper. She loves her new pre-school, she is already learning to write her name and, brings home a craft she's done every day. Last Thursday she brought home a snowy owl fridge magnet she made with a plastic lid, cotton balls, elmers glue, eyes, and a magnet. So cute. The weekend before last she spent hours water coloring, a new thing for her. I've re-done the kitchen art wall. Pictures wil be coming soon. Yesterday we made a snow man in the back yard. Tuesday last week we went to her first movie ever. We saw Happily-N-Ever After. Very funny and cute rendition of Cinderella mixed in with many other fairy tales. Lexie loved the whole movie experience.

I've re-arranged my bedroom, made the master bath mine, and the full bathroom Lexies, started cleaning out the walk in closet, cleaned out the hall linen closet, made a huge dent in cleaning out the garage, rearranged and cleaned the kitchen, moved the tv/vcr off the back deck and into the office, cleaned and opened up the living room. The only rooms in the house I haven't made a drastic change to are the office and Lexie's bed room. It's wonderful!

Blogs will probably be short and not as often for a while, but they will come back.

Today I'm greatful for Lexie, life, new-found happiness, relaxed non-worried house, activities, water, Mom and Dad, so many friends, Thumper and the kitties, my job, new fence, new dog house.

I can't really think of a title just now, but wanted to put something in to let anyone know that Lex and I are doing terrific! We've had a big family change that is scary and new, but ultimately for the best. I'll type more about it later, not ready to go into details now. We're reorganizing the house and getting to spend some real quality time together. She should be starting an amazing pre-school.

Word(s) of the day: NEW LIFE

Lexie log: I can't think of it at the moment, but she has the most amazing pronunciation of the word marshmello. I'm going to try to document it, because I love it. I think it is Marshamow. Now we eat dinner at the table, and are getting some regular sleep times and habits. Whew! She's gone whole days without watching any TV at all. Friday night we went to zoo lights. She had a blast! We rode the train, she had hot chocolate, and Grammy came with us.

Today I'm grateful for Lexie, Mom and Dad, Serina Jones, Mr. Stalnaker, a new beginning, and all the amazing resources available to us if we look for them.
