Sha-na-na-na, sha-na-na-na, Hey hey, Goodbye...

I enjoy Thursdays. I just do.

I’m getting so caught up at work, it is amazing. I love it! Clearing off ancient projects, working on my big ticket item, our aged A/R… I made a goal at the first of the year to reduce the A/R by half a mil by my performance review in June. The first piece I am working on is getting the charges out the door and boy did I get that one! Over the last two weeks with overtime and super effort, we made it to the point where I have to post the previous days cashiering batches that night or in the morning so we can post the charges with co-pays! We are submitting to insurance charges for services rendered the previous day! I hope to get an amazing turn around time with that and the electronic scrubber and reports. Now, I’m working A/R for all bill types (except private pay) that are old and over $200.00. Weeee.

Lexie is learning tons at pre-school. She really enjoys it also, when it’s not being sabotaged by someone who will remain unnamed telling her it’s not a real school and that he will put her in a real school. Ok, enough with the anger.

Every once in a while, on the way home (did I mention that I love having Lexie dropped off here at work three days a week?) we drive by a Party City store that she always asks if we can go in. I have told her that it’s not really a toy store (the sign looks very similar to Toys-R-Us), but she still wants to go. So, last night when we drove by, she said it again, and I offered to go home and get her purse with her money from birthday and Christmas, and come back. She thought it was a great idea. She couldn’t have picked a better store! It was full of cute little items that wouldn’t break her wallet, but still made her feel like she was making a significant purchase. We got to talk about how much items cost and how much she had to spend and had her make some choices about how expensive something was for the amount of enjoyment she would get from it. We didn’t get the $10.00 piñata she wanted because she would only be able to use it once and buy the candy separate. She could buy almost five times as many smaller toys for the same amount. I told her that we would consider the piñata idea for another special occasion. It was great.

Transylvannia 6 5 O--O-O!

Today was Lexie's first dental appointment and cleaning. It was neat. I love stuff like this that is new and exciting to her. Ironically, her dental hygentist has a four year old daughter named Alexis Marie. I took some pictures of her in the chair and getting a flouride treatment, I'll post them later. Last night we made a pink floam pencil holder from an Alpo can.

Lexie had a second straight week of excellent swim class. I haven't ever seen her listen so well and try so hard. She still goofs around and has fun, but now she is also that she is getting it. After swim we went to Bed Bath and Beyond and got a shelf/stand and some towels for Lexie's bathroom. She picked a dark blue towel color and we got a set of four since they were only $2.99 each!!!

Yesterday we came up with a new game for Thumper called, "Find It!" We take a treat, let him smell it, then hide it in the yard while he waits in the kitchen. The we open the door and yell, "Find it!" and he smells out the yard until he's got it. Maybe he'll be more of a scent hound.

Thanks to Uncle Steve for the awesome dog dinner recipe. Thumper loves it, and so do I, I mean not for me to eat, whatever! One cup dry food, one can Alpo, one can green beans.

A whole new world....

Today was awesome! Lexie woke me up at 8:30am. We dallied around, got ready, drove to Toys-R-Us, still closed. So we went over to Washington Square. First time for Lexie…I mean she’s been, but when she was much littler. She was nervous/scared at first, but we got a taxi cart, and she loved it. We wandered around (I crashed the taxi into a wall, that was funny) while the stores were still opening. We spent a good deal of time in the Disney store, what fun! Then we wandered some more and spent over half our $100 Sharper Image gift card from doing MyPoints. We finally left at about 11:30am and headed for Chuckee Cheese’s. We shared a pizza, half cheese, half pepperoni, and she played and played. So did I. When we got home, Dad was putting up more of the fence. I filled the bird feeders and picked up dog poop. Lexie enjoyed running out to her Grandpa every once in a while and showing sticky cotton candy, and her new tinker bell fairy. She took a fun, fun bath. I just watched a murder of crows chase off a sharp shin, now Lexie is going to put on her new, first princess nightgown, and she is climbing on my back squealing with fun as I type this. She will play boobahs for a while and then we will watch a movie. Ohh…I do love weekends.

Today I'm grateful for Lexie, Mom, Dad, and everything!

Butterflies are free to fly, Fly away, High away, bye bye

$201.33 to replace a cracked windshield, whew! I know that most of my dislike for this Honda is emotional, but I really, really, really, hope that I can adopt the Pathfinder. It just seems like a much better vehicle for my new life.

I’m thinking of getting my tattoo redone with a electric/cobalt blue Japanese style dragon. I have a picture in mind, maybe I’ll post it.

Lexie log: She really enjoys having Grammy spend the night every Monday. She talks about it for days and asks for the next two days if she will be there when we get home. She did have a rebellious fit over the new organizer furniture Grammy got her though. After Grammy spent time putting all her toys away in it, she said she didn’t want it and put all the toys on her bed. It was funny and yet sad to watch.
She has her first dental cleaning Monday and her well care visit the Monday next.
I love the art and school work she brings home from school. I can tell the walls will be full of Lexie arts and crafts.

Today I’m grateful for Lexie, Mom and Dad, water, life, humor, happiness, less worries, family, Steve, Fred, and Chris conversations, and the color blue.
