Tell me, did you sail across the sun, Did you make i the milky way to see the lights all faded...

I just don't get the deep-fried chicken line in that song... "Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken"? Hmmm...

Oh the HORROR!! It is time once again to work on the procedure pricing project. This is by far my least favorite job function. The spread sheet from Hell with so many sheets of data pulled in from so many different types of sources and vertical lookups from one sheet to another. My God! I really loathe it!

The days are getting sorter and Barb and Linda were just discussing that a tanning boothe once in a while will actually combat the Seasonal Affect Dissorder that so many of us experience. My gym has tanning packages for $25.00 and it is at both the gym across the street from here and the one at home. I think I'll look into it next month. Frank and I have a new workout schedule. I wish it didn't cost extra for the child care part, though. So Tuesday and Thursday are gym nights and Wednesday and Friday are family meal nights.

Word(s) of the day: ZELNORMOUS

Lexie log: I was looking through past months blog for a picture, and came across the one's she had taken and realized that she hasn't taken any in a while. I'll have to bring the camera with us to different places and see if she wants to take more.

Blogging got cut off, I forgot to put my break sign up and got pulled into a "on-the-spot" meeting with a high maintenance employee who feels out of the loop with all the changes we are going through. I had to explain how unstructured this process is because I have no established work-flow handed to me and there are too many changes that are overlapping and no two plans handle thing the same. He feels that he is being left in the dark (we are not an office that has many meetings) and feels a little lost without the structure. I am having issues with not knowing a way to even communicate all the changes to everyone, so I guess I better go work on an email synopsis of our current office environment. Oh joy...

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, sunshine, animals, employees who do not require coddling and steel grate structure, coffee, walking, iPod, and 24 hour fitness.

A Raspberry Beret, the kind you find at a second hand store...

That song will forever remind me of Rochelle Monson (formerly, not sure what her married name is or even if she is still married) and Horse Camp.

Another good movie we watched, for sci-fi fans, Serenity.

Rachel stats: Currently listening to Memoirs of a Geisha, reading The Other Boleyn Girl, watching any movie that looks half way decent, walking at lunch, financially barely maintaining (but working on it), emotionally very stable and in an up crescendo, physically improving, career soaring, family improving, free time dreams of camping, hiking, laughing, reading, not enough free time, project list growing with garage cleaning and house chores, animals healthy, family getting over a cold, in need of secondary vehicle in the near future, overall looks good and the such.

Word(s) of the day: AUTUMN

Lexie log: Still working on the picture a day project, but not getting every day, more like every other day. I'll need to start putting them on a CD soon. She is still amazingly cute and loving. She is also an incredible ham who loves to entertain. Sunday at swim I overheard her old teacher and some parents talking about her and how entertaining she is. She is definitely not shy.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, weekends, sunshine, happiness, rest, love and water.

But what a fool believes he sees, No wise man has the power to reason away...

I just love Charlie FM! and grilled cheese sandwiches. And diet pop.

We watched Broken Trail last night. It made it to my list of favorite movies. Johnny Was is another great one.

Our next semi-major family purchase has been agreed upon. We have been enjoying a bit of a green thumb over the past couple years. Frank has been really into cacti and has two house plants, one hanging and a prayer plant from his long ago deaceased grandmother. I had a vegetable garden, and I would mind a couple vegies every once in a while, but my big passion has been growing from seed or start. I've got a couple starts from plants at work that I'm working on and...my absolute pride is my Avacado tree that I grew from the pit of an avacado Frank and I ate over four years ago. I recently found out that as early as eight years they can start producing fruit. That would be awesome. My tree is over five foot now and filling out very nicely. I've pruned the height to get a fuller tree. For the past years I have been moving the tree into the garage for the winter where it gets little to no direct sunlight, but our house doesn't have any good indoor place for plants. And...now the tree is getting too big to move around. So...we decided to invest in a portable green house. I also have high hope that Lexie will enjoy watching a vegetable or two grow and perhaps she might even eat them. Hah. Well, she has shown an flowers and plants and I do think it will be fun for her to watch something grow. So we are going to put payments on this bad boy. I'm also really excited because I always want hanging plants on the deck, but don't have anywhere to put them when it gets cold. All of our birthdays and Christmas is coming up, so this will be our family present.

Word(s) of the day: GRASSHOPPER

Lexie log: I woke up about three in the morning to Lexie crawling up onto the bed. She fell asleep on the couch, I tucked her into her own bed, but she always ends up back in ours. Usually though, I don't wake up when she does. This morning I felt her on my feet, just standing at the end of the bed half asleep. Then she slowly crawls up and falls asleep at the bottom of the bed. A little later she makes it up halfway, and finally I grabbed her, pulled her up, and put her under the covers. What a cutie. -- She is enjoying tumbling, I wish I could go to that class. I sent an email to a Montessori in Beaverton to find out about taking a tour, but haven't heard back. -- We went to Freddy's last night to look for a leotard, but no luck. She did pick out her halloween costume. She is going to be a CareBear. Thank-you Grammy! Now the trick is keeping her out of the costume for the time being. I need to hide it when I get home. -- Her swimming is really getting good. She is two classes into the fall session and I do like her new teacher.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, sunlight, water, music, movies, yard, weekends, coffee, pillows, and life.

New goal...I want to walk around Hagg lake, 11-13 miles depending on if you take the trails or stick to the road. Very intense hills. We did a hike around the area yesterday, that's what inspired me to this goal. Then maybe next years goal will be the Portland Marathon.

Work is overloading me today. I just can't get into the swing of it. I really don't like posting insurance payments right now while I have all these other mini-projects. Then, I missed a web seminar and now am being pressured by Cerner to go forward with the latest software load and rtf. I have a monsterous Medicare Enrollment form to complete for our address change lock box, training for Tobie, and still need to mail out address change to hundreds of small third party insurance.

Word(s) of the day: BONE SAW

Lexie log: She went to her second tumbling class today. I really hope she enjoys it. I'm not sure how I feel about this sessions' swim instructor. He seemed to just go through the motions rather than making sure the kids were trying to do the skills themselves.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, Gramma Betty, tomatoes, cheese, walks, weekends, swimming, and life.

Hey, Hey, do that crazy thing...

Woopee, it's Friday! We came so close to going to Reno for a couple days to stay at the office admin's time share, but don't have any care for Thumper, so, not this time. Work is going fine, I should have business cards pretty soon. Plenty of people are signing up for next years PTCW, that's great! I got the video recorded last night, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet. Currently listening to Memoirs of a Geisha and reading The Other Boelyn Sister. Watched Sleepy Hollow last night and started to watch Kingdom of Heaven.

Word(s) of the day: RAIN

lexie log: First swim of the Fall session on Sunday, and Tumblerama on Monday. I hope her Dad is up for it. Yesterday after work we went for a walk with Thumper. I really want to try to do that more days a week

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, iPod, books, weekends, rice, green, and stuff.

super girl and super dog Posted by Picasa

Da da da ...Ni ni ni ni ni ni ni

Having a rough go of it this week. Fiscal, physical and mental illness prevail. Monthend is over, however, so that is a relief. Looking forward to happier, healther times.

Word(s) of the day: HANDLEBAR

Lexie log: My number one wish in all the world still remains that I could stay at home with her everyday until time for her to go to school. I missed my calling as a stay at home mom and today I am no end of melancoly for her. We are keeping up with the daily pictures about every other day.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, health, cats, dogs, yard, and life.

You need to find some new feathers and buy some new clothes. Just get rid of he antlers and lighten you load.

What a shame that Steve Irwin died. His beautiful daughter and baby boy will surely miss him in their lives.

I walked about 2 1/2 miles yesterday in the hot sun. I wish I could do the walking every day. Too bad Lexie would peeter out on me less than half way through. I need to look at some strollers for older, bigger children. Perhaps used? Any way, the walk had a couple nice hills, and if I had been more prepared with water for myself and Thumper, I would have pushed on to make it four miles. I'd like to do four miles a couple times a week.

Word(s) of the day: STINGRAY

Lexie log: I've started the picture a day project, and really hope I can keep up with it. So far it's entertaining enough. -- Had another great weekend with her. Went to breakfast Sunday for Grammy's birthday, and then for a beautiful walk at the Tualatin Hills nature park. I sure do love my family.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, Thumper, Tiki, Turkey, Chikita, Miadda, long weekends, nice weather, and life.
