If you're happy and you know it clap your hands...

Wonderful 4th of July weekend. Went by too fast. Hey...But only two and a half more days until Friday. Saturday was domestic day. I made another batch of shredded beef in the crock pot and cooked up some chicken and dumplings. Both turned out rather well. Mom got to sample both yesterday.

Word(s) of the day: JUMPING PANDA

Lexie log: She's growing up so darned fast. I was going to post pictures to the blog, but I left it up at home again. Sunday, we all sat around the dining table and ate breakfast. Sitting at the table instead of her highchair is awesome. She still wants to climb in her highchair and snack to watch a movie some times in the evening. I think it gives her a better seat for watching the big TV. Saturday we went over to Gramma Betty's and visited and met the new dog Pete to pup, a Doberman colored dachshund. Lexie fell in love with Pete. We wandered around Freddies for a while and then home for my domestic cook off. Sunday after sleeping in, we went and picked up some fire works at from a stand and then took a drive out to Merix where Grammy works, just for the drive. We left a note on the Vue. Went home and Lexie played in her pool for a couple hours while I read next to the pool. Monday, Grammy came over around 11:00 and spent most of the day. Lexie played in the pool and we all played/lounged in the shady part of the yard. It was very nice. Each time Grammy would lie down on the beach towel, Lex would get up off her towel and then go bulldoze Grammy until she got back up. Next she danced and sang around the deck as we saved Miadda a little more. It seems much more comfortable for her in the warm weather, and it was such a pain for us to do, we're going to look into professional groomer next. Last night we went out in the court and set off her cheapy fireworks and watched the rest of the neighborhood's. I think it gets more impressive each year. Lexie enjoyed the heck out of it. Went over and re-introduced ourselves to our next door neighbors John and Jerri. Lexie kept pointing up to the fireworks and telling them, "Look! See? Over there!" She was as cute as ever, and John said he'd introduce her to his cat pepper someday. It was a late evening, but very worth it.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, fireworks, Grammy and Grampa Dad, our backyard and pool, summer, and air conditioning.

Monday was sooooo fun. Delicious lunch. Sitting or stretched out in the sun chatting with you guys and watching Lexie frolic in the pool..... Her laughter thrills my heart (as does her mom's.) It actually felt like the first day of summer. ----Mom
