You know the nearer your destination, the more you slip sliding away.

Glorious weekend. We house sat up in the thicket (Yamhill). The weather was perfect. Frank and I can't stay indoors in the evenings, especially when the weather is this good, so we planned a picnic movie. Lexie was asleep when we got there, so we put her to bed and set up camp in the 'back yard'. Whatever you call it, it's not a yard, but it is behind the house, so that term will have to do. We brought our little tv stand with our little TV with built in VHS. About 6:00pm we put in 'Cellular' and enjoyed both the glorious outside and watched a movie. Outdoor theater, so to speak. Lexie got to watch whatever Disney show in the background in the house while she played with her toys in the livingroom, and we could see her from the kitchen window. It sure was nice. -- I'm in rare form today. I have a fantabulous array of sound effects, and I just did the loudest obnoxious snort as Dr. Bengtson walked by. Didn't even phase him.

Word(s) of the day: LEBENSRAUM

Lexie log: We found a new water pastime for her. On the way back from Yamhill, we went by the new Hillsboro Civic center and she played in the fountain for about an hour. We had to drag her from there kicking and screaming. We will definitely go back there on warm days. Hillsboro is getting a bit nicer than I remember.

Today I'm grateful for Frank and Lexie, coffee, mini-vacations, Hillsboro fountain, lotion, summer, water, movies, and forests.
