When you're strange, faces come out of the rain, When you're strange, no one remembers your name, when you're strange...

A farewell thee weekend.  I miss you already.  Monday reports, Monthly reports, Saturday mail, and two more days to post for month end.  Inbox piling up with HCFAs and research paper/pull work. At least the day will go by fast.  Ok, so then they’re (I’m not really sure who ‘they’ are) setting up a coffee dealio-thingy in the conference room, and they try to maneuver the cart through the business office, the only way upstairs to the conference room.  The cart doesn’t fit around the bend in the hallway, so I get stuck on the opposite side from my desk until they can offload their equipment.  Strange delays.  – Frank cleaned the gutters Saturday.  I started up the ladder to try to help and promptly had a panic attack.  Strangest thing since I used to climb up to the very same roof from the fence on the side of the house, and even jump back down.  Every once in a while I think I’ll post our current shopping list, just for time capsule sake (and because for some reason it keeps cycling through my head all morning).

Shopping list:
Wet and dry cat food (Friskies for both)
5 cans of grapefruit segments in light syrup (usually Flavorite)
10 cans spinach (7-8 oz cans)
Gas for the car
Diet Cherry Coke and Sprite
Vitamins
Frozen blueberries
Deodorant
UltraSwim shampoo and conditioner
Diapers
Arm & Hammer multi-cat scoopable kitty litter
Swim goggles and water-wings for Lex
Rain gear for Lex (boots, coat, pants)
Bike helmet for Lex

So, there you have it.

Word(s) of the day: ABUNDANCE

Lexie log:  She did well in swim lessons.  She’s still hesitant to put her face full in the water, and went over the ‘island’ bar instead of under like the other two kids.  I’m pretty sure that besides being slightly younger than the other two kids, this is not their first session in swim, so they are more familiar with the routine.  In fact, from what I can tell so far they are basically doing similar or the same exercises as the preceding session, just without parents in the water.  So, Lex doesn’t have the advantage of previous experience, and taking that into consideration, she is doing excellent.  Saturday Lexie and I hung out and played in the house while Daddy did the gutters, then we went over and visited with Gramma Betty.  Gramma Betty got Lexie a new pair of Sketchers and slippers.  Sunday after swim we went and checked out the Beaverton Trader Joe’s and bought a few groceries.  On the way into the store, it started to downpour, the second we’ve had so far this Fall.  After groceries, we went to La Fogata for takeout Mexican (Lexie still has lackluster taste buds so she stuck with a ham and cheese sandwich), and then we crawled into bed and got cozy, warm, cuddly, laughed, giggled, and took the first rainy, cold, Fall afternoon nap.  Man! I do love weekends!

Today I’m grateful for Frank and Lexie, Mom and Dad, Gramma Betty, swim lessons, Fall naps, and happiness.
